In a new art installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, California, fashion designers Bernhard Willhelm and Jutta Kraus challenge what we think we know about fashion. Bernhard Willhelm 3000: When Fashion Shows The Danger Then Fashion Is The Danger is an installation that features Willhelm’s Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collection as well as a hodgepodge of video, photography, and objects selected by Wilhelm himself. The artist states that his exhibit is a response to art, fashion, and consumerism in the 21st century as well as a prediction of the fashion in the 22nd century.
Never being one for conformity, Wilhelm and Krauss have been breaking convention since the 1990s when their label was released. Tired of the minimalist fashions that were cluttering the runway, Willhelm and Krauss chose outspoken visual designs that caught the fashion world by storm. The pair considers their work to be similar to that of the Paris court of fashion, commenting on taste and wearability of modern fashion.
This is one stunning installation that is not to be missed! If you are in the area go check out MOCA Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, California. Willhelm and Krauss’s installation will be there from February 7 – May 17, 2015. You can check out MOCA.org for more information.
